Our Presence

ENRD is an organization which works in the rural areas for the development of ICT. By coordinating with Nepal Wireless Project, it is providing its service of ICT through wi-fi network in different rural districts. The districts include Kaski, Parbat and Myagdi of High hills and Makawanpur of low land Terai. At present, ENRD is running its 14 telecenters from which students from different schools, women and local people including disadvantaged and marginalized community in rural villages are accessing internet. And by the use of internet, it is providing other services like e-learning, e-commerce, telemedicine etc. The villages where the people are not getting medical services from doctors, through ICT they are able to achieve those services. Now people from there can directly contact online with the doctors of OM hospital. It is because of an application of ICT, through telemedicine. From its establishment, ENRD has been playing an important role on solving different problems of the villagers through ICT. In collaboration with Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya(MPP), on funding of IDRC, ENRD has been doing research on Pan Localization Project, mainly on how to make ICT more effective in different remote villages. Since the contents of ICT are not in local languages, people of rural villages are unable to know the importance of ICT. So, ENRD is conducting training program related to Nepali software for the content development in their local languages. It is conducting awareness program about gender discrimination, gender equity and peoples participation as well.

At present, it has been succeeded to be recognized not only between villagers, but also in national level. It is coordinating with different organization like MPP for effectiveness of local software, SAP Nepal and READ Nepal for the content development, HLCIT for telecenter establishment and for making different high level policies. It has not only been working with ICT related organization, but also has been helping them technically by providing human resources.

It has been recognized in the international level for its research and developments project. It is coordinating with international organization like IDRC,Canada, NITV Japan, One World South Asia, New Delhi and e-World Wide Group, Pakistan. So, ENRD is an ICT related organization which is able to be recognized not only to local and national level but also to international level.
